Copper Ore

Copper is a chemical element with the symbol Cu (from Latin: cuprum) and it is carrying the atomic number 29 in the periodic table. The thermal and electrical conductivity of copper is very high. Pure copper is soft and malleable; a freshly exposed surface has a reddish-orange color. It is used as a conductor of heat and electricity, a building material, and a constituent of various metal alloys.

Copper as metal is known to the mankind from the ancient times, but for industrial purposes copper has mainly been extracted since the 1900. Mainly concentration of Copper in Ore form contains only 0,6 %.



After Aluminum, Copper is the second most preferred and used material as an electrical conductor in most of the categories of electrical wiring. Besides electrical wiring, copper is also used in energy efficient motors and architecture.
